Bible Boot Camp: Battles Without

Battles

0.1.   The Battle Without

Matthew 5:13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Presence Evangelism

We must be present in society and culture. The disciples, Peter, James and John were fishermen while Matthew was a tax collector.  They didn't leave their social network of family, friends, and associates. They continued in these but now as witnesses of Jesus Christ.

Example of Matthew.  Luke 5:27

We must also be present in times of need in the lives of our friends and family members. Example: The Antioch Christians act.  Acts 11:27-30
There are needs all around us.  What are some of the needs you can see?

We must be present in the spiritual battles for the soul. The Spirit sent Paul and Barnabus to be missionaries from the local church. That same need must be still be felt within the church and each member.

Example Acts 13:1-3

What actions will I take?

We must become involved in the lives of those around us.
What opportunities can you plan or create?
What talents do you have that could be put to use just to meet people?
Are you willing to volunteer, to coach, to help someone in need?

What will I say?

You Need to be Saved - Romans 3:10-18

The Bible Condemns all under Sin.
There is none righteous (In right standing with God.) None that does good.
No Fear of God (No reverence, no worship, no honor)

This is confirmed in other passages. Romans 2:3-6 God's goodness leadeth to repentance. John 3:5 Ye must be born again. Ephesians 2:1-4  Ye were dead in trespasses and sin

You Cannot Save Yourself - Romans 3:19-20

The Law, the commandments given by God to Moses or any moral code, cannot save us. “By the law is the knowledge of sin.” The purpose of the law was to show us as sinful.

God Can And Will Save You - Romans 3:21-28

You can be saved only by Grace through Faith

Righteousness: right standing with God;
Grace: Undeserved love, unearned favor;
Believe: Trust, Reliance, Faith.
Justified: Pronounced righteous by God
Redemption: Bought back from death, from damnation
Propitiation: An appeasement of God wrath
Salvation takes place when I accept Christ’s death on the cross as being for me.  God placed the sin of the world on His Son that He could take my place and I might be forgiven my sin and justified by God.

Other passages
Ephesians 2:4-10 (By grace are ye saved)
Titus 3:3-7 (Not by works of righteousness)

Will you accept God's gift of grace?
Romans 10:4-13 That if thou shalt confess and believe thou shalt be saved.

The Law of Seven Touches & Three Hearings

According to research, to get someone in church we must reach out and touch them seven times.  This same research shows that most people accept Christ as their savior after hearing the gospel three times.  If we can reach out and touch or friends, relatives and associates through an invitation, act of kindness, or simply telling the gospel when we have the opportunity, we will build a bond between us that will also make it easier for them to accept us, our other friends, our church and our most importantly Christ.

Four things you should know about Salvation.
